Inflation and Consumer Price Index of Sorong Municipality January 2025

In January 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Municipality of 0.60 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.89.

Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in several expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.16 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 4.16 percent; health group by 1.10 percent; transportation group by 4.19 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.69 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.58 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.17 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced y-on-y deflation were the clothing and footwear group by 5.09 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 6.84 percent; information, communication, and financial services expenditure group by 0.43 percent; and the education group was 0.61 percent.
