Inflation and Consumer Price Index of Sorong Municipality November 2023

In November 2023, Sorong Municipality experienced year on year inflation of 2.87 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.12. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan at 5.89 percent with a CPI of 120.62 and the lowest occurred in Jayapura at 1.82 percent with a CPI of 112.99.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in the index of several expenditure groups, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.70 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.61 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.11 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.62 percent; health group by 2.30 percent; transportation group by 5.30 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 4.40 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 3.05 percent; and personal care and other services group by 0.78 percent. While the groups that experienced deflation, namely: the information, communication and financial services group by 0.10 percent and the education group by 2.99 percent.

The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for November 2023 was -0.49 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate for November 2023 was 2.86 percent.
