Inflation and Consumer Price Index of Sorong Municipality May 2024

In May 2024, there will be year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Municipality of 0.95 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.23.

 

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in several expenditure group indexes, namely: clothing and footwear group by 4.10 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups at 0.44 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.40 percent; health group by 2.63 percent; transportation group by 4.74 percent; information, communication, and financial suit group at 0.07 percent; leisure, sports and cultural groups at 5.11 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 2.81 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.85 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced y-on-y deflation occurred because there was a decrease in prices indicated by a decrease in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.07 percent and the education expenditure group by 3.27 percent.

 

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Sorong Municipality in May 2024 are 0.09 percent and 0.84 percent, respectively.
