Inflation and Consumer Price Index of Sorong Municipality August 2024

In August 2024, there will be year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Municipality of 1.20 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.19.

 

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by the increase in several expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.54 percent; clothing and footwear group by 4.54 percent; housing, water, electriMunicipality, and household fuel groups by 0.62 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.86 percent; health group by 2.65 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 5.81 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.35 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 2.36 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced y-on-y deflation occurred because there was a decrease in prices shown by the transportation expenditure group by 1.59 percent and the education group by 0.61 percent. The expenditure groups that did not experience significant changes in the index were the information, communication, and financial services expenditure group.

 

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Sorong Municipality in August 2024 were 0.03 percent and 1.77 percent, respectively.
