Inflation and Consumer Price Index of Sorong Municipality July 2024

In July 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Municipality of 1.13 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.16.

 

y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by the increase in several expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups by 1.38 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.19 percent; housing, water, electriMunicipality, and household fuel groups by 0.50 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.19 percent; health group by 2.13 percent; transportation group by 1.39 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.04 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 5.07 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.72 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 2.44 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced y-on-y deflation occurred because there was a price decline shown by the education expenditure group by 3.27 percent.

 

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Sorong Municipality in July 2024 are 0.26 percent and 1.74 percent, respectively.
