Development of Consumer Price Index of Papua Barat Daya Province in June 2024

In June 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province of 1.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.97.
The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Selatan Regency by 3.41 percent with a CPI of 108.11 and the lowest occurred in Sorong Municipality by 0.68 percent with a CPI of 104.89.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.02 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.49 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.36 percent; health group by 1.87 percent; transportation group by 0.65 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.01 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 3.46 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 2.72 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.13 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were the household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.08 percent and the education group by 2.43 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rates for Papua Barat Daya Province in June 2024 were 0.29 percent and 1.50 percent, respectively.
