Training of Potential Village Officers (PODES) 2024 Sorong Municipality

BPS Sorong Municipality has conducted the 2024 Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) Officer Training from April 24 to 26, 2024.  This training was conducted with 2 methods, namely the learning method, which was online from April 24-25, 2024, and offline on April 26, 2024 at Aston Hotel Sorong Municipality. The opening of the online training was conducted by the Head of BPS Sorong Municipality, Mrs. Rumilah Natratilova, S.Si., M.Ec.Dev., and the opening of the offline training was opened by the Head of BPS West Papua Province, Mrs. Ir. Merry, M.P.. There were 14 officers who participated in the training, namely 10 PCL officers, and 4 PML officers.
Village Potential (Podes) is the only complete data collection at the village level conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This fact brings both pride and challenges. The pride is, among other things, because the results of Podes will always be awaited and become a reference for many parties. Meanwhile, the challenge is that more and more parties are also highlighting and demanding the validity and accuracy of Podes data.
The purpose of the Podes 2024 data collection is to generate data for regional development purposes, providing data on the potential of the region, the availability of infrastructure/facilities, and the socio-economic conditions in each village/kelurahan. The specific objectives of Podes 2024 are:
a.    Provide data that can support the planning of the 2026 Economic Census activities;
b.    As a means of updating the Village Master File (MFD);
